Steve Bentsen DVM: Steve Bentsen is a valley native. He attended Texas Tech before transferring to Texas A&M for his BS and DVM. After four years of mixed animal practice in Kingsville he returned to the Valley in 1975 and established Nolana Animal Hospital. Photography, a long-time hobby, became a second career in 1986 when he started a stock photography business. Today he splits his time between Nolana Animal Hospital and his photography business, which he operates jointly with Laura Moore. Special veterinary interests include dermatology and internal medicine. His avocations are birding, nature and habitat preservation.

He is married, has four children and three grandchildren. His hobbies are hunting, fishing and his Labrador retrievers.

Amanda Rogé DVM: Amanda Rogé is a graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She subsequently completed a post-graduate internship at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Professionally, she has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and feline internal medicine. Dr. Rogé's personal pet, Chloe, is a papillion, who she rescued from a local shelter, after she was Amanda's first surgery patient while in veterinary school. Some of our clients may recognize Dr. Rogé, as she began working here as a technician while in college. Accordingly, the entire staff feels a sense of family as she comes back to us as a staff doctor. However, none are more excited to have her join us than the three old, tired male doctors. Drs. Bentsen, Baker, and Brown are thrilled to have her youth, enthusiasm, energy, and new education on board.
Bill McDougal DVM: Bill is one of our visiting specialists. He was born in Paris, Tx, and grew up in southeast Oklahoma in a farm/ranch setting. He received his BS and DVM from Oklahoma State University. He is a clinical instructor in the Department of Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine. He has been in private practice in Houston since the late 60's and limited his practice to dermatology in 1981. He is married with three children and ten grandchildren. Bill's hobbies include golf, fishing and hunting.
